SET
YOUR MIND
"If
then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where
Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not
on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden
with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also
will appear with Him in glory." (Colossians 3:1-4.)
While
the set of the sail determines the direction of the ship it is even more true that the set of mind determines the direction of
life. Your mind must give your life a heavenly direction. "For as he
thinks in his heart, so is he. Eat and drink! he says
to you, but his heart is not with you." (Proverbs 23:7.)
SET
YOUR MIND ON HEAVEN. "The Lord your God will make you abound
in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of
your livestock, and in the produce of your land for good. For the Lord will
again rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers, if you obey
the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which
are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to the Lord your God with
all your heart and with all your soul." (Deuteronomy 30:9-10.)
SET
YOUR MIND ON CHRIST. Christ is your life. To enter Christ and His service we must
die to self and become like Jesus, our perfect example. The world makes us
alive to sin but dead to God. Christ makes us alive to God but dead to sin.
Happiness and lasting joy comes from making Christ your life.
Will
you not accept God's wonderful news that Christ died for your sins and be
baptized for the remission of sins? A person has not been united with Christ
until he is baptized in the likeness of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection.
(Romans 6:3-5.)
