THREE WAYS TO CAUSE

THE CHURCH TO GROW

After several years preaching I have come to this conclusion. There are three good ways to make the church grow. They are VISIT, VISIT, VISIT. Of course, we know the gospel is God's power to save. (Romans 1:16.) But to preach the gospel to empty pews will save no one. So, you see, for the gospel to have an opportunity to demonstrate its' power, we must visit so there will be prospects to preach to.

VISIT OR DIE: It has been well said that a church will either be a visiting church or a dying church. It is either visit or vanish. The growth of the church (the number saved Acts 2:47) is influenced greatly by the amount of visitation done. The Lord's word is "GO". (Mark 16:15.) And when we go ‑ they come.

WHO SHOULD VISIT? Every person who takes serious their responsibility to the Lord should visit. The Lord who saved us wants us to be the messengers to reach others. (2 Timothy 2:2.)

WHOM SHOULD I VISIT? Visit a member who doesn't attend all the services of the church. Visit a neighbor who is not a Christian. Visit a stranger. Just visit. "Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in . . . " (Luke 14:23.)

WHY SHOULD I VISIT? Visit to show your concern for the lost. Visit to strengthen the home where you visit. Visit because you are built up by it. Visit because you can reach the lost with the gospel through this means.

WHEN SHOULD I VISIT? Today! Every day! Every week! If we want the Walnut Street Church of Christ to grow we will "GO". We need God's message, the gospel, burning within us to the extent that we cannot fail to visit often. Remember ‑‑ when you visit they attend.
